The author shows Pathos in the book when he starts to to tell the reader about what is good and bad trash. When he begins to talk about foods that are bad he says "Bulging, rusty, and dented cans and cans that spew when punctured should be avoided, especially when the contents are not very acidic or syrupy," (Eighner, 714). This shoes pathos because the author goes in to great detail about what exactly the cans that are bad are like. When you read over this sentence you are able to Imagine the cans as if you were looking at them right in front of you.
